Hallowe’en is a fun time of year for kids and adults alike. With all of the costumes, themed parties and trick-or-treating it is my favourite time of year.
This is also an excellent time to make good use of your Easy-Bake Oven. Some ghoulish and gory treats await!
Graveyard Chocolate Cake with Worms
What says Hallowe’en more than a cake that looks like a graveyard. Fun and easy you can follow along with the video to make this creepy delight. It was made with a kit from Target but you could pick up the ingredients: Chocolate Cake Mix, Chocolate Sandwich Cookie Crumbles, and Gummy Worms anywhere. I personally like getting ingredients at my local Bulk food place because then I can buy as little or as much as I want.
Jack O’Lantern Cake
Hallowe’en isn’t hallowe’en without pumpkins. This fun cake looks just like a carved pumpkin, and you can give the face any look you want! How awesome would it be to come back from a hard day of trick-or-treating to this fun treat? The recipe itself calls for 6 Easy Bake cake mixes, frosting and red, yellow and green food colouring along with some black shoelace liquorice to give the Jack O’Lantern face some definition.
Halloween Brain Red Velvet Cookie
Your little zombie will want to eat brains to survive. To keep the neighbours safe, you might want to whip up a batch of these cookies instead. Very cool looking little brains, these are made with the Red Velvet Cupcake mix and pink frosting but if you wanted to have a little fun you could use any colour frosting or cupcake mix. An acid green icing on chocolate, for instance, would be awesome.
Adapt Your Favourite Recipes
Now there are a lot of recipes that can be adapted to fit the Hallowe’en theme. Try these recipes with a few adaptations:
- Rainbow Rice Krispies Treats – make this with orange and chocolate chips instead of rainbow chips for a more seasonal look
- Baked Apple – add a little gummy worm out of the centre of the apple for a ghoulish treat
- Layer Cake – use the rectangular pan to make your cake layers and use an acid green frosting to make a coffin cake, you will have to trim the layers a bit to make the coffin shape but it will be worth the effort
With a little imagination and some fun ingredients, you can have a frighteningly fun Easy-Bake Hallowe’en. Find more Easy-Bake Oven Recipes at EBORecipes.com
