Makes 12 Tea Cakes
According to my granny, reduce the milk by 1 tbsp, and mix in 1 tbsp of an acid agent (white vinegar or lemon juice), and let sit for 5-10 mins. This causes the milk to curdle and gives a nice flavour to the tea cakes.
Thanks for the tip!
